Lance Nelson led a varied career as a photographer and photojournalist. He began his career as a freelance magazine photographer in the early 1960s, focused on corporate and industrial work during the 1970s and 1980s, then moved into stock photography in the 1990s. Nelson worked primarily across Australia, Indonesia and the South-West Pacific region including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, New Caledonia and New Zealand. His real passion was for everyday life and people.

The photographs contained within this collection may include images of deceased of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders.
